Reykjavik University at IT fair UTmessan
This year, SINPAIN partner Reykjavik University participated in UTmessan, Iceland’s largest IT event taking place on 7-8 February 2025 in the impressive Harpa conference house in Reykjavik.
The institute of Biomedical and Neural Engineering, partner in SINPAIN, is the core centre for the biomedical engineering activities in Iceland. The team took the opportunity to present their latest innovations in SINPAIN with an exhibition stand. For their work in the project, they use machine-learning techniques to analyse specific features from knee scans of healthy people as well as those affected by osteoarthritis. They are thus bringing together allegedly disconnected disciplines such as medicine and information technology.
Fostering and highlighting the importance of information technology and how it affects everybody’s daily life is in the centre of UTmessan. The event addresses young people with the aim to raise their interest in the field of technology development and thus increase the number of students choosing technical disciplines at universities nationwide, particularly computer science.
The public exhibition day reached over 7.000 visitors. More information is available here.
