i3S joins public event Mostra U. Porto

On 6-9 March 2025, the Neuro Skeletal Circuits Group (NeSk) from SINPAIN partner i3S had the great opportunity to participate in Mostra Universidade do Porto, held at Pavilhão Multiusos de Guimarães. Mostra UP is an annual event taking place to inform young people about their options when choosing to pursue their studies at Universidade do Porto. In addition to the university’s faculties, research centres that are connected to U. Porto, such as i3S, are also represented.

The NeSk team was proud to showcase SINPAIN, sharing its mission to develop new therapeutics for Osteoarthritis. As a degenerative disease that causes chronic pain and affects millions worldwide, it is widely known and easily relatable.

Mostra UP was well received with approx. 17.525 visitors throughout the event. The NeSk team engaged with numerous participants, raising awareness about the urgent need for innovative treatments. To make science more interactive, they performed a live demonstration of a simple experiment to create lipid particles!

We are happy that so many interested people stopped by, asked questions, and interacted with the group. The people’s curiosity and enthusiasm make these events so rewarding!
