A cost-effective combined advanced therapy to treat knee osteoarthritis

Results about Knee Cartilage Degeneration presented at IEEE MetroXRAINE 2024

On 21-23 October 2024, the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Metrology for eXtended Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Neural Engineering (MetroXRAINE) took place in St. Albans, London. SINPAIN partner Reykjavik University participated with one oral presentation and two posters to present their results relating to knee cartilage degeneration.

1) "Multimetric Evaluation of Knee Cartilage Degeneration", using machine learning to identify predictive parameters from segmented-cartilages parameters

2) "How muscle and intramuscular adipose tissue volume and density progress in knee osteoarthritis-affected subjects: a virtual histology study", investigating the relationship between cartilage degeneration and alterations in adipose intramuscular tissue and skeletal muscle tissue

3) "Knee cartilage degradation in the medial and lateral anatomical compartment: a radiomic study", exploring the potential of radiomics and machine learning for the classification of degenerative and healthy knees in the medial and lateral compartment.

The conference brings together experts in eXtended Reality, Brain-Computer Interface and Artificial Intelligence. It was thus a great opportunity to share SINPAIN's objectives, results and commitment to knee osteoarthritis with the scientific community, technologists and companies.
