Excellent research recognised – Award-winning members of SINPAIN

At the 17th anniversary meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Society, Sibylle Grad, an esteemed scientist in SINPAIN, received the Women’s Leadership Forum Award.

Sibylle is a Principal Scientist in the Regenerative Orthopaedics Program of the AO Research Institute Davos (ARI). Within the Regenerative Orthopaedics Program, she is the Focus Area Leader for Intervertebral Disc and Cartilage Biology. In SINPAIN, Sybille and her team are involved in developing 3D OA models and establishing bioreactor-loaded 3D co-culture models, including the validation of nanotherapeutics in these models.

In addition to Sibylle, we are proud to have Magali Cucchiarini from Saarland University Hospital in our team who was recently elected as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Board of OARSI. In 2022, she won the OARSI Basic Science Research Award, which promotes advancement and recognises excellence in basic research on osteoarthritis. In SINPAIN, Magali and her team are responsible for the in vivo validation of nanotherapeutics.
